In-line metrology is an excellent process control tool in certain electrospinning applications. If we have metrology systems integrated into our electrospinning equipment that provide real-time information during processing, we will have a significant advantage when manufacturing nanofiber membranes or coatings produced via electrospinning.
Some Fluidnatek systems can implement metrology systems for various purposes:
Online metrology for GSM control (grams of material deposited per square meter). To measure the GSM of the deposited nanofiber layer in real time. Similarly, many electrospinning applications require a very precise gsm (grams per square meter) range for the deposited material; only then can the nanofiber membrane properly perform the function for which it was designed. In this case as well, depending on each process and application, this metrology functionality may or may not be implementable, and if so, in one way or another.
When a customer wishes to implement metrology in their process, it is necessary to first carry out a development project to confirm that the metrology is implementable in their specific process and that we can meet the measurement requirements (accuracy, repeatability, etc.) desired by the customer. If the results of this project are satisfactory, we will be able to integrate the metrology systems into the electrospinning equipment that the customer plans to purchase.
