Biomedical

Electrospinning biomedical applications is one of our preferential targets indeed. Biomedics is one of the fields to have implemented most developments and products using electrospinning.

New electrospinning biomedical applications for multiple purposes and with different approaches are published in paper almost every day.

The fact that electrospun structures mimic the extracellular matrix (ECM) of tissue, the degree of porosity of these structures, the possibility of using synthetic polymers and biopolymers and biodegradable polymers, and the possibility of releasing active ingredients that can be encapsulated in electrospun fibres mean that electrospinning technology is ideal for developing a multitude of products for biomedical applications: different types of 2D or 3D scaffolds, coatings on medical devices for different purposes, wound dressings, tissue engineering and organoids, etc.

Electrospinning biomaterials have revolutionized the field of biomedical engineering, offering advanced solutions for a range of applications. The unique properties of electrospun biomaterials, including their high surface area to volume ratio and the ability to tailor fiber composition and architecture, make them ideal for applications such as coating on implants and other medical devices, as well as scaffolds for tissue regeneration or wound dressings.
